An ordinary village woman who used to rear cows, breaking into one male preserve after another is not commonplace even in a highly literate State like Kerala.

Sandhya Banerjee, who hails from a village near Ettumnoor in Kottayam district, is fast becoming role model for others by doing just that.
She created a flutter 3 years ago by driving an Auto rickshaw. A very few would have thought that it would actually become her launch pad into politics.

Continuing her ride of breaking the male dominancy she went out to win election to the Neendur gramapanchayat a year ago and now taking a giant leap in her political career, she is the Panchayat President.
